The registration process has been streamlined to be straightforward and accessible. To register, British expatriates need only their passport, National Insurance number, and the last postal address they had in the UK. Here are the simple steps to follow:
- Register to vote online by visiting www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.
- Appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf, which can be done from the USA or Canada at www.gov.uk/apply-proxy-vote.
