The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Celebration, with lead sponsor Virgin Atlantic Airways, at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows in Santa Monica, was a smashing success!
Attendees were entertained by such remarkable talents as Legendary DJ Paul Oakenfold (voted no. 1 DJ in the world by DJ Magazine); 9-piece Amy Winehouse Tribute Band Dear Amy; Beatles Tribute Band Plastic Soul; singing sensation Victoria Summer (renowned as Julie Andrews in Disney’s Saving Mr. Banks alongside Tom Hanks); and Lauren Samuels (London West End singing star and A Brit in LA podcast host).
Produced by the BABC LA in conjunction with BritWeek, the event provided a wonderful opportunity to celebrate both the Queen’s 70 years of service to the UK and Commonwealth, and the US-UK Special Relationship.
Attendees included British Consul General Emily Cloke, who made a toast to The Queen; BritWeek Co-Founder Nigel Lythgoe, OBE PhD; CNN’s royalty expert Sandro Monetti; and many honored dignitaries, celebrities and leaders from the British and American business communities. Katy Haber, MBE was honored for her many years of charitable services, as was the late Christopher Guy Harrison, with the announcement of the BritWeek Christopher Guy Design Icon Award.
