The British American Business Council (BABC) of Los Angeles is delighted to announce that Andrew Lewis, MBE, has been elected as it’s next President and will be responsible for ensuring that the BABC continues to support the business interest of it’s members. His appointment comes at a time when the UK is the largest foreign investor in California by jobs created. Under Andrew’s leadership the BABC will continue to play a pivotal role in supporting trade and investment between California and the UK.
BABC LA is a non-profit international business association with a membership of southern California based companies and individuals involved in transatlantic trade and investment. The BABC supports companies in southern California that are looking to expand their operation into the UK and helps UK companies looking to trade and expand into southern California.
Andrew brings extensive experience in global trade and investment in both the private and public sector. He spent more than 10-years at a global Fintech firm helping it grow to unicorn status and was responsible for expanding the business into the UK and other international markets. Prior to that, he led economic development arm of the British Consulate in Los Angeles advising 100’s of firms on their global expansion and new market entry strategy. Early in his career he worked as a management consultant. In 2011, Andrew was recognized for his contribution to wealth creation in the UK and awarded an MBE by Her Majesty the Queen. He’s originally from Northern Ireland and in addition to serving on the BABC Board he serves on the Board of the non-profit, Britweek, promoting creativity and innovation between the UK and California.
